Young Money Entertainment is an American Record Label founded by rapper Lil Wayne. The Label is an imprint of Cash Money Records and is distributed by Universal Records. In October 2007 Lil Wayne said in an interview with Vibe that he had stepped down as President of the Label, and had given the position to Cortez Bryant. As of 2009, Mack Maine is serving as president. Rapper Drake signed a joint venture between Cash Money Records and Young Money. On August 19, 2009, Mack Maine confirmed that Omarion was no longer on the Label.
To promote their collaboration album which was released on December 21, 2009,
Young Money artists embarked on the Young Money Tour “The America’s Most Wanted Music Festival”.
The Festival was a United States and Canada–only concert tour headlined by American rapper Lil Wayne in support of the upcoming untitled collaboration album with Young Money Entertainment and his seventh studio album Rebirth. It started July 29, 2009 in Scranton, Pennsylvania and scheduled to end September 5 in Sunrise, Florida. The opening acts are rappers Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em, Drake and R&B singers Jeremih and Pleasure P. Due to an unknown illness, Wayne missed 2 shows in Canada in Edmonton and Vancouver. Also, on July 31, 2009 at their Camden, New Jersey show, rapper Drake fell and further injured a torn ACL when performing his single “Best I Ever Had“. He had surgery and missed the rest of the tour except for a short appearance at the August 22nd Woodlands, Texas show. Chris Brown filled-in for Drake on their Virginia Beach show.

Lil Wayne will be spending at least a year in prison, thanks to a plea bargain made with the New York City District Attorney. Wayne was being charged with criminal weapon possession and criminal possession of a loaded weapon when, on July 22, 2007 police searched his tour bus following a concert at the Beacon Theater in New York City and found a loaded .40-caliber pistol. He could have spent up to fifteen years in prison if he’d been found guilty of the two original charges, but instead pled guilty to a lesser charge of attempted weapons possession. The “Hot Revolver” rapper struck a deal with Manhattan prosecutors and pleaded guilty to attempted weapons possession in exchange for a one-year prison sentence, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office confirmed to E! News. The 27-year-old Grammy winner, aka Dwayne Carter III, appeared before Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Charles Solomon and copped to a felony count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. Hizzoner allowed the New Orleans MC to remain free on his current $30,000 bond but ordered him to surrender his passport. Still, Weezy should consider himself lucky, given he could have gotten a much longer sentence if convicted on the original, more serious gun charges.
The Grammy winner’s plea bargain came a day after a hearing on DNA evidence in the case in which his attorney, Stacey Richman, argued that investigators’ profiling technique wasn’t widely accepted in the scientific community and that the gun in question didn’t belong to her client but someone else on the bus.
While Lil Wayne was supposed to go to jail on February 9, his lawyer invoked dental care to be done and postponed his entry to March 2nd.
