Detox is the upcoming third and final studio album
by American hip-hop artist Dr. Dre through Aftermath Entertainment
and Interscope Records. Production for the album began in 2002 but has
been delayed several times because Dr. Dre wanted to concentrate on producing
for artists that were on his Aftermath record label, with the production
delays being compared to Guns N’ Roses long delayed album Chinese Democracy
(2008). Initially announced in 2000 after the release of Dr. Dre’s previous
album 2001 (1999), Detox has gone through many renditions during its
eleven-year production period, with the album being scrapped and
restarted many times. Despite not having a confirmed release date,
Detox has spawned two official singles, Kush and I Need a Doctor.
The D.O.C has recently confirmed that the album
would be released sometime in 2012.

Deep Cover, also known as 187, is Dr. Dre’s debut solo single,
his first song since the N.W.A. break up. It was made for
the soundtrack from the film Deep Cover in 1992. The song
features Snoop Dogg making his first appearance on record.
The album peaked on the Billboard 200 albums chart
at #166 on July 25, 1992. Apart from the soundtrack compilation,
it also appeared as a single and on Dr. Dre’s First Round Knock Out
(1996), which spent 2 weeks on the Billboard 200 starting at
#52 and later on several greatest hits albums, including:
Doggy Stuff and Doggy Style Hits.
