Booba, de son vrai nom Élie Yaffa1, aussi connu sous le nom
de scène Kopp, est un rappeur français né le 9 décembre 1976 à
Boulogne-Billancourt. Il est membre du 92I, un collectif de rap
français dont il a été le fondateur, regroupant des rappeurs issus
des Hauts-de-Seine, Mala et Bram’s (ce dernier étant mort le 21 mai
2011). Il a créé sa propre marque de vêtements streetwear nommé Ünkut.

Après plus de 17 ans de carrière, Booba reste un des plus célèbres
rappeurs francophones2. Il est aujourd’hui le premier artiste à
détenir le record de téléchargement légal en France devant
Christophe Maé3. Il est aussi le premier rappeur français
a remplir le Palais omnisports de Paris-Bercy (sans
aucune aide de la part de Skyrock).

Elie Yaffa (born December 9, 1976) better known under his stage
name Booba, is a French rapper from Paris. He is half Senegalese
from his father’s side and half French of Moroccan origin
from his mother’s side. He started music career
with Ali as rap duo Lunatic in 1994.

Together, in 2000, they released their first and only album
entitledm Mauvais œil. This album contains fourteen songs and
is considered a classic. They have been often compared to Mobb Deep
for their sound and their complimentary styles.
The two-man group split up in 2003.
