Maurice Young (born September 23, 1973) better known as Trick Daddy, is an American rapper.
Young appeared on the track “Scarred” by former 2 Live Crew member Luther “Luke” Campbell from Luke’s 1996 album “Uncle Luke”. The song became a hit and immediately caught the attention of fans and record producers alike. Ted Lucas, a former concert promoter and then-CEO of Slip-n-Slide Records, signed the rapper to the newly former record label. Slip-n-Slide released Trick Daddy Dollars’s debut album Based on a True Story in 1997; the album was popular in the Miami area. In 1998, when his next album http://www.thug.com/ came out, Young removed “Dollars” from his stage name. Club-oriented track “Nann Nigga“, featuring Trina, became a national hit, peaking at the third spot of the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart.
Katrina Laverne Taylor, better known by her stage name Trina, is an American rapper from Miami.Trina was born Katrina Laverne Taylor. Growing up, she lived in both the Liberty City housing projects near Miami and upper-class Pembroke Isle. She is of African American and Dominican descent. Trina debuted in 1998 on Slip-N-Slide label mate Trick Daddy’s “Nann Nigga“. Her first two albums, the certified platinum debut album “Da Baddest Bitch” (2000) and the certified gold follow up “Diamond Princess” (2002) focused on the raw and raunchy style that made her famous, followed by the certified gold album, “Glamorest Life” in 2005.
