Rob Swift – The Architect 2010 cd

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Rob Swift is a Hip Hop DJ and Turntablist.

Born and raised in Jackson Heights, Queens, Swift (born Robert Aguilar) initially got into DJing by watching his father and brother. “My dad was a salsa and merengue DJ. My brother learned how to scratch and do all the hip hop deejaying stuff on my dad’s equipment (without his permission) and I’d sit there and watch him. When I entered the sixth grade, I decided I wanted to learn.” So unlike those who got influenced through hip hop records, DMC and NMS tapes, or movies, Swift educated himself with the classic turntable beats of the early ’80s New York playground pioneers while listening to funk and jazz at home. “My older brother exposed me to all that,” he says. “All the stuff I create as a DJ is rooted in the songs that I heard from Bob James, Herbie Hancock and James Brown to Quincy Jones and old DJs like Grandmaster Flash and Grand Wizard Theodore. That’s where my roots are.” In 1990, Swift enrolled as a student at Baruch College in New York and in 1995, graduated with a degree in psychology. “While I was deejaying I pursued college. Speech class and English serve a purpose, you know?” Some say that his education also translates into his cerebral style of scratching, juggling and making music.

Swift is a former member of the Turntablist group The X-ecutioners as of late 2005 and as of 2006;
with Mike Patton’s project Peeping Tom.

Streets Talk DVD Presents DJ Scoob Doo & Lil Wayne – The Nino Brown Story Part1 2008

Limited Edition DVD

Streets Talk DVD, the crossroad between the streets and the industry, is releasing the best installment of its critically acclaimed series on September 23, 2008. This limited edition DVD offers an insider’s perspective on the life of Lil Wayne in a way no one has ever seen before!
Titled The Nino Brown Story, the connection between the hood classic New Jack City – with “the Carter” building (in front of which Wesley Snipes’ character – Nino Brown – hustled) and the “Cash Money Brothers” (Nino Brown’s crew) – and Lil Wayne well-known alias and alliance, respectively, is evident.  To reinforce that connection, executive producer DJ Scoob Doo incorporates sound bites of the film throughout the DVD.
Traveling across all major cities from New Orleans to Newark, Los Angeles to Philadelphia, The Nino Brown Story reads like a home video, with a personal, uncensored glimpse into Lil Wayne’s life over an extended period of time, with exclusive footage that will never be seen on anything but Streets Talk DVD.
Since Streets Talk DVD first dropped, the series has truly become “where the streets get their news from”.  No episode would be complete without celebrity appearances, with the likes of Kanye West, Juelz Santana, Baby, Jay-Z, Jae Mills and Freekey Zekey just to name a few make their presence known on The Nino Brown Story.  Also included are special features, such as the “I Run This” video shoot, Wayne’s legendary concert in Newark, NJ, and never heard before information about Lil Wayne’s infamous arrest in New York City!

Lil Wayne – Man Of The Year (Explicit) 2010 Bootleg cd

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (September 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is an American rapper. Formerly a member of the rap group the Hot Boys, he joined the Cash Money Records collective as a teenager. Get It How U Live!, released in 1997, was Lil Wayne’s first album with Hot Boys, and “Tha Block Is Hot”, his solo debut, came out in 1999.

MTV named Lil Wayne their 2008 man of the year.  Lil Wayne’s track “A Milli” named by many as the top hip hop songs for 2008, and also managed 8 Grammy nominations, more than any other artist!

Despite legal troubles and looming jail time, Wayne fostered the hottest clique in hip-hop and featured on songs from Madonna to Drake, all the while still dropping mixtapes. Lil Wayne is going into 2010 just like he went into 2009: on top of the music game. MTV News’ 2008 Man of the Year’s star is so huge and shines so bright that he’s remained a entertainment focal point — breaking touring records for a hip-hop act despite not releasing Rebirth, his much delayed follow-up to last year’s Tha Carter III.
The New Orleans Fireman was more popular than most artists who boasted #1 albums; with hit singles.

VA- The Dre Area Vol.2 – Starring The Jacka 2010 cd

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Andre Hicks (July 5, 1970 – November 1, 2004), better known by his stage name Mac Dre, was one of the originators of hyphy and is generally considered the creator of Thizz music. He worked with well-known artists such as Snoop Dogg, Pisi-P,Warren G, Richie Rich, Keak da Sneak, E-40, Daz Dillinger, Baby Bash, B-Legit, San Quinn, Yukmouth, PSD, Andre Nickatina, Mac Mall, Ray Luv and Too Short. His lyrics were largely based on his neighborhood known by those around him as “The Crest”, short for Country Club Crest, a particularly rough area on the Northside of Vallejo, California which started the label Thizz Entertainment.
He is credited with coining the slang verb thizz and influencing the hyphy movement, fostering the racially tolerant atmosphere due to his inclusiveness of people of all ethnicities on his record label.

On November 1, 2004, leaving Kansas City, Missouri, a car pulled up next to the white van carrying Dre. Though it is not known whether words were exchanged, occupants of the car opened fire. The van swerved off the road and into a ravine where it ran into a ditch and Dre was thrown from the vehicle. Dre’s driver could not find him in the dark and ran down the freeway to get help but found Dre dead upon returning.
He is believed to have died instantly from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Drake – So Far Gone 2 Chopped N Screwed (DJ Mr Roger) 2010 cd

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986) is a Canadian actor and recording artist. He originally became known for playing character Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. As a rapper, he performs under the mononym Drake. Drake continued to recognize a close affiliation with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment, before officially signing with the record label in June 2009.

Drake has released a Chopped & Screwed version of So Far Gone that was slowed down by DJ Mr. Rogers from Houston, Texas. The Chopped & Screwed version is available for download. It was promoted with a release party in Toronto with Drake and Lebron James.

In an interview with Complex blog, Drake explains:

The whole tape extends from one of my closest friends Oliver. One night we were having a discussion about women and the way we were talking about them, it was so brazen and so disrespectful. He texted me right after we got off the phone and he was like, ‘Are we becoming the men that our mothers divorced?’ That’s really where the cover comes from, too. It’s just this kid in pursuit of love and money. We’re good guys, I’m friends with some real good people and for him to even text me after we got off the phone it just showed we have a conscience. But sometimes you just get so far gone, you get wrapped up in this shit. The title has a lot of meanings—as the way we carry ourselves, the way we dress, the way people view us, not to sound cocky, it’s just that feeling that we’re just distanced in a good way. You’re just elevating past the bullshit and past all the shit that you used to be a part of and you’re not that proud of,
you’re just so far gone.

Gutta Muzic And DJ Deals Present Dipset (The Diplomats) – Next Generation 2010 cd

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

The Diplomats, also popularly known as Dipset, are a Harlem-based hip hop group founded by Cam’ron and Jim Jones in 2002. The original members of the group are Cam’ron, Jim Jones, and Freeky Zeeky, who all grew up together on the East Side of Harlem. Juelz Santana would later be added to the group in 2001.

The first commercial appearance of the group was on Cam’ron’s 2000 album S.D.E., released on Epic Records. During this period, various members of the original group consisting of Cam’ron, Jim Jones, and others, were first signed together as a group to Roc-A-Fella Records from 2002 to 2004, though they are now signed to
their own label, Diplomat Records.

Each individual artist, however is signed to a different label, including E1 Music, Asylum, and Def Jam, among others.
Though the record label “Diplomat Records” still exists, their future is in dispute after group founder Cam’ron left, and various artists have broken into separate entities or solo acts.
